Single-Payer Healthcare Certification
This three-hour Single-Payer Healthcare Certification Course was explicitly requested by NAHU members and we are delighted to have NAHU CEO Janet Trautwein teach it in its entirety. It is exceptionally critical for producers to understand in depth what single-payer means, and what it would mean for their families, clients and our country.
Single-payer healthcare is such an important topic right now because the United States is one of the few industrialized countries in the world that does not have a system for providing universal healthcare coverage for all of its citizens. The United States spends more on its healthcare system than other countries do. Following the passage of the Affordable Care Act, we still have 28 million uninsured people in our country.
Members of Congress are talking about whether a single-payer system, such as we see in Canada and other countries, would be the way to achieve universal coverage in the United States. A single-payer system has become a real topic of political contention. Additionally, people who influence the healthcare policy in our country are talking about this on an ongoing basis.
This course provides in-depth instruction on the importance of the overall functioning of healthcare delivery and financing in our country, important references for supplemental reading and a final exam. What students will learn:
Upon completion, the student will receive a certificate of completion as single-payer certified. Continuing education credits have been filed in all 50 states. Please check your state’s CE approval status prior to purchasing the course.NAHU Course Refund Policy: In order to be eligible for a course refund, the student will have to request a refund within one year of the purchase date.
